History lesson at Hardwick Hall

Year 10 students had the privilege of a day at Hardwick Hall with Dr John Cooper of the University of York. Dr Cooper shared his expertise about the Elizabethan period to help the girls to prepare for their GCSE historic environment study. On the first warm and sunny day of the year, Hardwick looked glorious and we had plenty of time to explore each floor in detail, have our sandwiches outside and finish off with ice-creams, tea and cake. Getting out to the site has really helped girls to understand the Hall, its location and Bess of Hardwick so much more.
