York Minster women at the Castle Museum

The Creative Arts Festival history group worked very hard to research some stories of the women from World War One who are commemorated on the panels in York Minster.  Women from all over the then Empire are remembered and girls researched and wrote about women from across the world and all walks of life, including old Mount scholar Elsie Impey.  They were helped by the Imperial War Museum’s website Lives of the First World War and a site visit.  Their work has now been presented for exhibition and is in the community room as part of the 1914-18 exhibition at York’s Castle Museum for the months of March and April.  Well worth a visit!  Lives of the First World War.  York Castle MuseumYork Minster.
