Mount historians at the House of Lords

We had an amazing time at the House of Lords.  Thanks to East Coast reward points we were even able to travel first class – a surprise for the girls.  The reception itself was on the terrace of the House of Lords and there were Lords (including Shirley Williams and Douglas Hurd), MPs, teachers, academics… all sorts of people there to celebrate the Historical Association’s new Quality Mark.  As the first school in the country to get the QM we were very much at the centre of things.  With the help of one of the MPs, we also saw some more of the Palace, including central lobby, Westminster Hall and watched some of a Commons debate.  It was late by the time we got home, but none of us will forget the experience.  Here are Millie and Celia as we made our way to Black Rod’s Garden Entrance.
