World War 1 Women!

Research has begun on the first list of women whose names are memorialised in the Minster. These women represent a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences of the war. We are collecting all the information in order to prepare an exhibition which will focus upon the lives and stories behind the names. One of them is a Mount girl! The list is attached and if anyone has any information and/or time to do some research on these women, we would love to hear from you. There are also many more names on the memorial. This is just a start!
Here is the list from the York Minster memorial of the women who we are researching first:Some of the women of the British Empire who died in WW1 and who are memorialised in York Minster
