Lots of things for curious minds!

There are several things that have crossed my desk this morning that would be great for you to catch up with. Firstly, from the BBC World Service. Follow this link to an 11 minute broadcast about Danish Jews escaping the Holocaust in 1943. Particularly interesting to Mounties as the grandfather of one of our College I students was one of the rescuers. Clue: he went on to found a language college in York and his son runs a local restaurant! http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01htrz6.
Secondly, there is a good programme on BBC2 on a Sunday night about the Ottoman Empire – pick it up on iPlayer.
Thirdly, very specific to GCSE, here are a couple of good sites about Weimar and Nazi Germany: http://weimarandnazigermany.co.uk/ and a helpful timeline form the International School of Toulouse – thanks folks!: http://www.internationalschooltoulouse.net/igcsehistory/term1/weimar/studentwebs/paul/index.htm
Finally for now, the First World War in 100 objects: http://www.historyextra.com/gallery/first-world-war-100-objects and a fascinating map portraying the relations between European countries in 1914: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bibliodyssey/3668664529/sizes/l/
